I hope to learn a lot in this class revolving around that of various websites I can use to make teaching my student's easier and learning as a whole, a lot more fun. I hope to find websites such as Padlet, that will help me to better organize my assignments and student portfolios. I hope to use websites like Miro board, to allow group work within my class in a way that is easy for mass amounts of edits. I would also like to learn about more websites like Mentimeter, to make learning fun and easy for my students.

Due to my experience within the teaching academy at my high school, I am already very aware of many education-based websites. I have used Canva many times in the past and have done projects on websites centralized around education. The most memorable project I had to was in my first year as an academy member, I was tasked with learning about a website and using it to provide a detailed presentation about education in another nation. I took a look at the website Sketch board, which was very similar to that of Miro board and PowerPoint, with it's open board styled UI but, easily presentable nature. It included many different transition and animation features that made teaching about my subject very easy.

As of right now, I am comprised my PLN with peers my age, such as friends, siblings, and classmates, and of people that are older, such as teachers and parents. I have used these resources most recently to help me better understand how to take full advantage of resources FSU offers. Being that I am a new student here at FSU, I am still trying to catch my bearings. To help with this, I have asked professors, friends who have been here for a year, and even classmates who may have found something I have yet to. Reaching out to all of these people has led to me feeling much more confident in my time here at FSU.

  1. Hey Ryan! This was a great blog post. I was wondering about what the teaching academy is and how you were able to start your journey as an educator so young. I think it's great that you were able to do that and already know some of the programs that we will be using. I agree with your PLN being peers that are your age, as they can relate to the journey that you've been on so far.
